About Dr. SHARMA
Dr. Nazhat Parveen Sharma MD is a licensed American Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Cosmetic care provider. She served on active duty in the United States Army Medical Corps posted at Fort Ord Army Community Hospital. Prior to settling in practice in Hollister, Dr. Sharma was Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Stanford University Hospital and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She has worked in Sierra Leone and Nigeria ( West Africa) Libya and Iraq among the many countries before settling down in United States.
Dr. Sharma is currently working in the Ophthalmology Department of San Benito Health Foundation in Hollister. She finds her current position extremely satisfying and productive - serving the Community in a Federally qualified Health Center providing caring, compassionate, comprehensive service to the underserved members of San Benito County.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Laser Hair Removal is a safe, very effective long term solution to unwanted hair. Hair grows in cycles of four weeks. Laser affects only when the hair follicle is in its early growth phase. Laser beam is absorbed in the pigment and vessels of the active follicle, disabling it from further growth. Repeat sessions are necessary to treat the follicles as they enter the growth phase. Individuals vary in their response to treatment, some requiring 3 or more to get the result they desire. We use Cynosure Apogee Elite Laser to permanently remove hair from any area of the body and for any skin types. There are no complications with this treatment except some individuals may require more than the usual number of sessions. No pain is felt during or after treatment. Advised to avoid exposure to UV rays for 1-2 days after treatment. Advised to avoid waxing of the treatment area for at least two weeks prior to treatment. May use depilatory creams or shaving prior to the treatment. Men and women can both be treated effectively. If under age 18, must have parents written consent for treatment. White hair my not get removed since their is no pigment in the hair follicles.

CHEMICAL FACIAL PEELS
CHEMICAL PEEL is a method used to improve the appearance of the skin of face, neck and hands, using a chemical which is applied to the skin. The chemical causes exfoliation of the skin which eventually peels off leaving a smooth surface of regenerated skin. there are three types of chemical peels: superficial, medium and deep.
Superficial peels: Alpha-hydroxy acid is used to penetrate only the outer layers of the skin to improve mild roughness or discoloration of skin to look refreshed.
Medium peel: Glycolic or Trichloroacetic acid is used to penetrate deeper layers if the skin to remove damaged skin cells and pigmentation

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves circulation and is often used in conjunction with physical therapy to treat chronic muscle pain or acute injuries. HBOT allows oxygen to penetrate 3x deeper into damaged tissue, which can drastically speed-up healing and recovery
HBOT therapy promotes the production of stem cells in the bone marrow of patients suffering from a stroke. This stem cell production leads to brain healing, the growth of new brain cells, neuronic tissue, and repair of the white and grey matter in the brain.
During HBOT, the patient breaths in pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber where the air pressure is increased to twice that of normal air. Aging is characterized by the progressive loss of physiological capacity. At the cellular level, two key hallmarks of the aging process include telomere length (TL) shortening and cellular senescence. Repeated intermittent hyperoxic exposures, using certain hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) protocols, can induce regenerative effects which normally occur during hypoxia.
Telomeres length of T helper, T cytotoxic, natural killer and B cells increased significantly by over 20% following HBOT. The most significant change was noticed in B cells which increased at the 30th session, 60th session and post HBOT by 25.68%
There was a significant decrease in the number of senescent T helpers by -37.30%
In conclusion, the study indicates that HBOT may induce significant senolytic effects including significantly increasing telomere length and clearance of senescent cells in the aging populations.
